INFRARED RADIATION PENETRATION INTO VEGETABLE MATERIALS EXPOSED TO THERMAL RADIATION

The results of experimental investigations and numerical simulations of temperature distribution in specimens of vegetable materials exposed to infrared radiation are presented. Based on these investigations, an analysis has been made of the depth of penetration by infrared radiation into wet materials (potatoes, apples, and celery root) in using ceramic and quarts halogen thermal radiators. The research data can be useful in creating energy-effi cient technologies for thermoradiation treatment and drying of vegetable materials.
