The formation of radioactive contamination in rivers in
Belarus caused by the Chernobyl nuclear accident is
analyzed, the peculiarities of monitoring in the
experimental Iput catchment are described, a conceptual
model of radionuclide migration in the river system is
suggested, calculations are carried out, and experimental
data and calculation results on transfer of radioactive
contamination of terrestrial surface water are analyzed.
