Exact solutions of the problem of forced convection
of an incompressible fluid (gas) are obtained for
a number of geometries with the presence of an
interface between an "ideal" fluid and a saturated
porous medium. A generalization of the Darcy law
allowing for viscous effects that are substantial
at the boundaries of a porous body is used to model
flow in a porous layer. The flow velocity as
a function of the Darcy number is studied.
